The Hospitality Committee will be sponsoring these events during the
Advent Season. Please mark your calendars and join us for some fun and
meaningful activities. We appreciate your kind support.
Sunday, December 3rd
A Dish-to-Pass Luncheon will be held following worship in
the Social Room. Baked Ham, beverages and table service will be
provided. Please bring your favorite dish to share. Following the
luncheon, please stay and help to decorate our sanctuary for the Christmas
Season.
Saturday, December 9th from 1-5
PM
We will hold our annual Bake Sale
for Christmas-in-Aurora in the Social Room. This year's event will
feature mostly non-profit organizations. Please invite such organizations
to join us. Our proceeds will be given to our account to purchase
cleaning supplies, paper goods and personal care items for the King Ferry Food
Pantry. These items cannot be purchased through the food bank and are
desperately needed by families. Please plan to bake, buy and sign-up to
help at this event. Many folks look forward to our delicious bake
goods. Thanks for all your help and support.
Tuesday, December 12 from 2-4pm
Annual Cookies and Carols with
the Good Shepherd Catholic Community. We will make plates of cookies for those people who are confined, sick
and unable to bake. We have changed this to an afternoon event so folks
who don't drive at night will be comfortable coming. Please plan to
attend and bring three dozen of your favorite Christmas cookies.
Throughout the season
We will be collecting warm
items for the students at Emily Howland Elementary School. The school nurse has
identified the items she specifically needs this year. They are:
a. sneakers youth sizes 1,2,3
b. very small belts for kids who lack hips
c. boys underwear sizes 6,8,10
d. girls underwear sizes 6,8,10,12-14
e. elastic waist pants sizes 6,8,10, 12-14, 14-16
f. sweatshirts for similar sizes might be
appreciated.
At present, the nurse does not need mittens, hats, scarfs or
socks. We will let you know if boots are needed after our first
snowstorm.
Finally, we would appreciate
your help with our coffee hours following worship on Sunday. A sign-up sheet is on the
bulletin board. Please make your goodies simple and easy. We do not need
a feast, but we do need more folks to host. Please feel free to contact
any member of the Hospitality Committee if you have concerns. Thanks for
all your kind and tasty treats.
Many thanks for all your help,
donations and enthusiasm for our events.
